Boosting Workplace Safety with Predictive Alertness Monitoring
At last week’s SMACNA Safety Committee meeting, our Safety Director, Gregory Wharton, joined industry leaders to discuss the latest innovations in workplace safety—including Predictive Safety’s AlertMeter. This cognitive alertness tool is designed to help companies assess worker readiness in real time, preventing accidents before they happen.
Using a quick, two-minute touchscreen test, employees are evaluated against their own baseline scores, detecting fatigue, impairment, or distraction before stepping onto the job site. Unlike traditional impairment testing, AlertMeter identifies a wide range of alertness issues, from exhaustion to emotional distress, creating a non-punitive, safety-first culturethat prioritizes worker well-being.
